>>48956394Half of these mons don't make sense as NPC choices though. What makes a mon an NPC choice is its availability and ease of use. Normies don't like to think when they play pokemon, they don't want to hunt for a rare encounter or raise up a shitmon for a ton of levels till it evolves. I can immediately see a bunch of pokemon on this list that were just thrown in cause their designs are good and so they're popular.
I don't think Raichu is a NPC pick at all, pikachu is pretty rare in the viridian forest, I don't know why you wouldn't put Jolteon here instead, it would've made much more sense
Kenya the spearow/fearow should be in Gen 2 in place of Crobat who feels like a random "its design is good and it's popular so it's NPC" pick
Who the fuck do you know actually uses Absol when they play gen 3? Or Gyarados for that matter, Pelipper would have been a better designated water type choice in my opinion, and honestly replace Absol with either Hariyama or Aggron
Gen 4 is the most solid one on this list because it's been meme'd to death, Although I don't really know if NPCs would know where to look for Garchomp
Gen 5 is where shit starts to get retarded, I'm not sure what makes Snivy the NPC choice, I really don't think an NPC would raise an Azurill, and I'm not sure they'd find Riolu there either. You're ignoring Flygon, Magnezone, Krookodile, Excadrill, etc. that an NPC might use instead of those two mons.
Gen 6 is probably the most NPC friendly game in the series, I agree with every pick except Aegislash, that's another "it's cool and popular so NPC" decision on your part, it should be Snorlax
Mimikyu is a pain in the ass to get in Sun and Moon, and Golisopod is a pain in the ass to raise and use in battle, even Lycanroc is obscure and hard to find, and Decidueye is easily the NPC starter, Tsareena should be Salazzle, the bulk of this is "cool so NPC" shit again
You cannot seriously tell me an NPC would choose to use Dragapult, it's so annoying to train
