If your opponent switches, you are given a chance to change your move selection for that turn. How does the metagame change?

Well obviously switching becomes massively discouraged since it can give your opponent an opportunity for free setup, and it’d be even worse if you got to change moves after your opponent sent out their next mon. Would moves that cause the user to switch out also trigger this or would they be exempt?

They're exempt since the switch wasn't the choice of the victim, and the opponent has already acted that turn.
