red, blue, and yellow should have come to SNES, and gold, silver, and crystal should have come to N64

Dude imagine Pokemon Crystal but with graphics and battle animations of Stadium 2! DUDE COULD YOU IMAGINE! And there were some leaks about the next console being "Gamecube" with much better graphics. Bros the future of Pokemon is looking bright, I cannot wait for them to announce Gen 3.

The pokemon games were exclusive to handhelds because thats what was selling the handheld systems. Its why they only came to console when nintendo finally merged their console with their handheld

Pokemon also didn't lend itself well to the console experience. That's why the Gamecube RPGs, while good games, are such limited experiences. You couldn't take your n64 to the playground to trade and battle with your friend. Things changed a bit as online became more prevalent but at that point it was the handheld system seller.

sure yeah and it's literally "pocket monsters", really Gamecube did the kind of wish fulfillment that makes for great pokemon experiences with all the emphasis on plugging GBA into the console for various stuff, and there was stadium 1 & 2 on N64 before that

If i remember correctly first generation of Pokemon very early was developed for NES but Tajiri abandoned it for Gamefreak because he saw two Gameboys connected and imagined his creatures going from one side to another on the cable.
