Maybe it’s just me, but I found the original titles on the DS to be needlessly tedious as far as post game went. More specifically the Battle Tower. Cool I can do it, but to start I have to do that whole breeding thing to get IVs maxed. Couldn’t know what my IVs were unless I used the internet. Got those IVs? Good now leveling to 100 in the OG titles was the real pain in the ass. Grinding with no reward on the routes to be able to redo the elite four and challenge the upgraded Cynthia (shudder). All leveled up? Cool now make sure your moves are good. Oh they aren’t? Go farm your heart scales and hope you can get it right.

This is why I’m appreciative of the EXP candies in sword and shield as well as the rental teams you could borrow to farm BP for bottle caps. Tell me why these quality of life changes in Sword and Shield are so horrible?
