Even if XY weren't the greatest games, Lumiose is probably the best city in Pokemon. I remember enjoying myself being lost as shit when I first played. Even when I played a few weeks ago I got confused at first, after arriving from the desert area.

I remember by the time ORAS was about to be released, I had learned the entire city in my head. I would go to the loto-ID every day and always do that one restaurant that offered circle battles because they were the absolute best moneymakers and also the fastest way to level up your Pokémon that you'd bred.

Unovafags don't have a problem with it because Castelia is the precursor to it.
In terms of design philosophy, Gen 5 and 6 are very similar. The only difference is that Gen 5 was overall more polished and executed better.

That's 99% of the nugenners whose biggest rebuttal against Gen 6 is that it was forgettable before falseflagging as Kalos fans and shitting on Unova becausse Gen 5 lives in their heads rent free.

It's alright though the fact most of the areas look the same makes it hard to remember where specific shit is. Though for a 3d environment it's slightly better than the atrocious Glittering Cave

Exactly, which is why GameFreak then decided to use Glittering Cave as the basis for every location in Gen 7 and 8.

That would be Hau'oli, with all it's loading zones and black screens whenever you need to cross a fence. Not to mention every corner of Lumiose is filled with stuff you can explore and buildings to check out while the ones in Gen 7 and 8 are little more than decorative setpieces.

I actually felt this was something that commonly happened to cartridge's. Any reason for the occurrence? Fucking TWICE whenever I grinded a Tyrannitar in Gold, my data got wiped.
