What's the safer way to buy Pokemon games on the Switch? Buy them physical, or buy them digital from the E-Shop?
I prefer to buy them digital because this way I don't have to worry about the physical cartridge breaking or stop functioning in the future. A Digital game can't break or get lost, because it's always in the Switch. So I thought buying Digital is the better solution. I bought both Sword and Shining Pearl digitally from the E-Shop, for that reason.
However, I was recently told that I don't really "own" digital games, but I only get access to playing them. Like renting. And Nintendo can delete my game anytime they want to. Is this shit true? I thought that my games are my own once I download them?
Also, if Nintendo were to delete my game or discontinue the E-Shop 10 years from now (hypothetically), would I lose my digital game?
I'm confused and I hope some more knowledgeable Anon can help me.
