im planning on shiny hunting for the gen 7 legendaries, and iirc you can only do that with dynamax adventures. Problem is, i dont at all remember how to play this, can someone give me a quick rundown on how im supposed to properly shiny hunt in this mode?

You're better off trading for or injecting your own mons yourself.
The whole max raid system is severely underbaked and nearly impossible to do it successfully on your own with the shitty AI in the higher echelons of battle
Nobody plays online anymore for this feature because it's just so bad.

>there's version exclusives, if someone from example sword invites you, a shield player, to a sword exclusive legendary, you can save it like the other pokemon and hunt it
