PM2019's entire marketing is basically just nonstop "holy shit this thing you like from something that isn't PM2019 is going to appear in PM2019. You already like this thing, so you're going to want to watch this episode". It's fucking absurd, the show has zero faith in its ability to deliver things people might like on their own merit. The Japanese people on twitter largely seem to enjoy PM for sure. Anipoke is quite often in the trends, the fujo artists love it anyway and judging by the comments to their posts, if you only take the Japanese ones into account, they're mostly either positive or neutral. Since Twitter is a pretty popular social media site over there, it's pretty safe to assume, combined with the TV Tokio rating results, that PM is doing fairly well over there. I mostly just see western viewers and some Amazon reviewers seethe a lot over the show.

This seriously wasn't very good. It had POTENTIAL, but squandered the hell out of it by focusing on the wrong things. We could've had great interactions with the new AU characters we've never going to see again, but instead we got the same type of clumsy "legendary fight" crap the series never does very well and a literal deus ex machina. We barely got to see Tomboy Koharu and Vegeta Go at all.

Okay, answer this question. If Goh is not supposed to be tied to any region and, if you claim that theoretically he could stick around forever, then why did his first ever Pokemon need to be a Galar Pokemon, instead of a more "neutral" region like Kanto? I mean, he's already from Kanto, so him having a Kanto Pokemon starter would have made sense.

If your answer is "Gen 8 promotion", that doesn't explain why Scorbunny (and indeed all of the Galar starters) went to Goh instead of Ash when Ash always had at least one starter from previous generations. Technically, Scorbunny didn't need to go to Goh, it could have gone to Ash instead if the intent was to promote Gen 8. In fact, now that I think about it, a Kanto starter would have made much more sense for Goh, not just because Kanto is sort of the "neutral" region for the anime but also because you get a Kanto Pokemon when you play Pokemon Go for the first time. That would have actually linked him even more to the game that inspired him.

Back in Kanto, they made Ash have all the starters of the region. So they made the new Kanto boy with a big dream have all the Galar starters to shill those that way. Marketing wise, the shouldermon is the most crucial, so if they choose to keep Goh, they could and probably will just let Grookey evolve off screen again to give him the shouldermon of the season.
As for Tracey and Max, Tracey was a replacement for Brock because they were worried westerners would see Brock as a racist stereotype. But nobody cared, so Brock returned for Johto. Meanwhile Max was tied to May, so he was bound to leave with her. He's also too young to be a trainer, so you cannot do all that much with him in terms of shilling.
Now all the reasons that speak for Goh staying wouldn't do much on their own, but it's the fact that it all comes together: an anime oc, lives in Kanto, endless goal perfect for advertising, advertises a game that exists alongside the main ones and stays strong, some paralleled to Ash story arcs (the starters, almost abandoning his first mon, Floette release, rival Gary for some examples), him being stated as a second protagonist, being designed by Ken Sugimori (which to my knowledge only TR are another example of among anime OCs), his goal being paralleled with Ash's narratively (see Mewtwo ep, the one where they guide those kids around or also the Drake one)
All in all, of course who knows if in the end he doesn't get written off despite everything, but there definitely are a ton of reasons for why he's different from other companions and why he could potentially be the one to break the rotating companion pattern we've had for years. If it turns out that he does leave after all than so be it, but there's no reason to pretend like him staying isn't a real possibility this time around.

Because the anime with him started in gen 8, so they chose that. I assume, like that other anon said, that they at least have the intention of making Cinderace a crossgen shillmon. Same with how they hyped up Goh and focus on him far more than the other new oc of the season, even though she got an Eevee now. Though with all that being said, it could also end up with him being kept for the next gen, but the one after they get rid of him after all. It wouldn't be the first time either.

In 10 years Goh can just use completely different Pokemon. Beyond Pikachu, Pokemon isn't in need of a main mascot and no other character is saddled with the arbitrary need to stick with an 'original partner' Pokemon. Sticking with one main partner isn't an inherent quality necessary for the main character of Pokemon, it's facilitated by Pikachu's popularity. You're kind of dense for not getting that.

Well if previous seasons are anything to go by, Cinderace can still be shilled even without it appearing on-screen in the anime. I mean Charizard still gets shilled a lot despite being Oak'd, Greninja's still shilled a lot despite being released, we still get shillings for older Pokemon and starters even when they're not part of the regular cast anymore.

You're completely missing the point. If the goal is to make Goh a permanent character, why make his first ever Pokemon from the latest generation instead of a more neutral region? His starter being a Gen 8 Pokemon does tie him to Gen 8 even if he's from Kanto and doesn't otherwise have the hallmarks of a generation-based traveling companion. There was really no need for his starter to be from Gen 8 specifically if the intent was to make him permanent. For that matter, I would have had similar thoughts even if his starter was something like Riolu or Froakie.

Because of the reasoning in my first post: a parallel to OS Ash. It's true though, they still can shill Cinderace otherwise and they might at some point. But with the other big shillmons being taken (Pikachu with Ash, the "girly" one with Koharu, Galar has the champion shill Charizard for the season already), they probably assumed trying out their new shillmon on the remaining new character was the most sensible and easiest option. Cinderace isn't even as much on screen anymore as it was as a Scorbunny and Rabboot, since Goh carries Grookey with him now.

This. Ash exist and already covers Kanto starters shilling. Eevee is a designated shillmon for girls. Go getting then Gen 8 starters is just common sense and it doesn’t say anything about whether he stays long-term.
