Why did the quality of the franchise decline so hard?
Gen 6 is supposed to be the bottom of the barrel, how do they consistently keep lowering the bar? Will we never get a lineup as solid as BW and BW2 ever again?

left game only uses trainer models in the intro where you see them up close so they're more detailed

right game has trainers always in the battle and they're typically seen far away so they need to have proportioned changed so details are more visible on the 3DS's shitty low res screen

completely different contexts and both make sense, try harder

Does that even matter when the PSS made it run at like 10fps instead?
Not to mention all the bugs and weirdness like not being able to turn the roller skates off which made using the DexNav impossible. XY will never be good anon. Just because they're your childhood games it doesn't mean they're objectively any better.

When you actually lay out the content of the games it's not hard to see how much of an improvement Gen VII was. USUM is considered one of the better games for a reason.

Kalos fans have Unova live in their head rent-free. They literally can't do anything but deflect Gen 6's issues onto it or Alola.

Someone mentioned that Alola had new Dex entries for every pokemon in the game.
OP misread that post and trued to argue that Kalos didn't reuse entries but Alola did because it had multipke pokedexes
MULTIPLE people pointed out the fact that they clearly misread the original and provided proof, but OP kept dodging it
Now he's made a new image and is STILL coping with his mistake by pretending pokemon existing on multiple islands is a flaw.

Sword and Shield does it with the DLC, too. Overall it just comes off as bloat in order to trick the player into thinking there's more content. It's not a flaw, but I would agree that it's a pretty scummy practice considering all the controversy around the National Dex. If you're going to cut the dex, why persist in repeating the same old entries anyway?

The repeat entries don't inflate numbers because they are in multiple dexes. The overall regional dex still shows the accurate number. And that wasn't at all what the original post was talking about, it was the information written in dex entries.

Then what's the point of bloating the numbers of the other dexes with it? I started the Isle of Armor with 100 Pokemon already registered. That isn't fun or engaging and all it did was make it harder to see what I was actually missing.
The information written in the Dex entries is semantics. I don't think anyone cares that they decided to move the same words around for the 8th gen in a row. For Pokemon not even in the regional dex I don't see a point in changing them.

I think the idea was that even though the XY battles weren't scaled properly, it wasn't nearly as much of a problem because the camera angle allowed things to look bigger/smaller as necessary
Then when they added the trainer models in, they couldn't move the camera in a way that obscures the trainer and the Pokemon anymore so it creates the bigger problem (alongside all the other issues like less battle modes, poor performance in the ones leftover, and lower fidelity)

Accurately showing what pojemon Chan be found in each area. You know, the thing the pokedex is designed to do?
Imagine if you pkayed a pokemon game and every time you saw a Kanto pokemon it didn't register to your dex because it is already in the Kanto dex.

The original post that the discord twisted was talking about information in the written dex entries, it had nothing to do with the number of pokemon in the pokedex. Kalos reused old dex entries, while Alola made new ones.
