What the fuck went so wrong?
Fucking Sonic overshadowed it in just a year and now Sonic is getting a sequel while the whole live action Pokemon series is dead in the water.

This movie is way better than it should have been, they dodged a massive bullet desu. Could have been such a big flop that it tainted the franchise, but they played it safe and made a mediocre movie that everyone could forget happened.

jfc we've gone over this a dozen times already stop posting this thread dude. Tim's actor was extremely poor casting, the movie had no flow and just abruptly jumped from moment to moment, and the ending was dumb even for pokemon

Funny, I thought they nailed what a realistic geninja would look like (an eldritch-looking thing, the way it's designed). there was a lot of stuff that was blink-and-you'll miss it but most I felt got the spirit if not the total execution of the 'mon down.

I mean exactly that. No flow. Scenes didn't transition smoothly. You know when you're watching movie clips on YouTube and it just sort of skips around throughout the film after each video? Detective Pikachu was exactly like that. It feels like there's scenes just plain out missing all throughout. I don't... think I feel asleep at any point? I may have. I have that same whiplash.
