After all of the synchronizer fails I've experience in usum, my personal belief is that synchronize's success rate was lowered in usum compared to sm.

I was juggling a few hunts, but I am now more or less singularly hunting my male shiny Dragapult.

I am hunting it via masuda method and when I get a box or two of eggs, I take them over to the old cemetery in the tundra and hatch them there to see if I can get that tagged to my shiny.

Pic related is my latest success. That has me at 3 female shone dreepy just in this hunt for a clear body male, and 5 female dreepy as I had a female of the other two abilities from other hunts. So 6 has to be male right? Coin toss the "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead" odds.

Yes, as I feel shinies have intrinsic value, what do I think the market values it at, I suggest not spending money on pokemon beyond what is already spent for the games. Get you charm and go hunting!

Raw encounters.
After some posts here last week and some analysis, figured out the best way to hunt it was to hunt it in the wild with cute charm.
Eggs is asking to get fucked and get like 7 male shinies and dynamax is too random.

Problem is the little fuckers are too small so after many attempts I figured the best way is to just circle challenge road trying to find one, if theres none just fly to challenge road again and try again.
I focused on killing 500 for the brilliant bonus but nothing so far despite finding around 30 salandit after reaching 500, currently at around 1.3k encounters total.

No and they never had any, it has the value that the trainer gives to it since they represent the trainer's effort and taste.

I think the value is largely in the eyes of the hunter. I don't care for shinies from other people at all, because I didn't work for them. The journey to get them is what makes them valuable, to me at least.

Yeah, my shiny luck tends to be off the charts. I don't think I've ever gone over odds on a singular hunt. The worst my luck has been was a drought of about 22k across several different hunts.

Finally found Ho-Oh after ~3200 resets, took a week of grinding in my free time. I also got Rayquaza the week before and Giratina in Turnback Cave, was considering going for Kyogre but I've had enough home button mashing for a while.

I was chaining marill for a couple days but never hit 39, but got 3 shiny patches and a normal patch that popped out a shiny during that time so I just folded and left with the 4 marills so I could move on with trophy garden spawns

a sentimental value and only really to the hunter. I don’t really care how exploits and new methods “devalue” shinies because I never trade any of my shinies for personal gain (only extras if people want them for their own sentimental/collection reasons). the only shinies that are meaningful/“valuable” to me are ones that list me as OT.

Right now nothing, but I did want to breed the Sinnoh starters, and I just got pic related 10 mins ago, so I may work on one of the other 2 (I have a shiny Empoleon in Go, but I don't really count that, and I also don't want to move that from go)

I was also working on Larvesta in Sword, but I don't feel like continuing that at the moment

I might also try to radar something like I did early on in my shiny hunting career years ago

Pic Related, just got him 15 mins ago. Not counting Go, my last 2 shinies were Heatran and Blacephalon from Dynamax Adventures. Funnily enough, my last 3 hunted shinies were all fire type

The ones I worked for or got randomly, absolutely. There's a story attached to every one, so even the ones that aren't amazing there are memories attached to them that are irreplaceable.

Any that I got in trades, unless it's from a dear friend, I don't care and they're pretty meaningless to me beyond being trade fodder

Does Harvest have a chance to trigger every turn?

I've always used Fling/Recycle/Heal Pulse with Leppa Berry on Blissey, you just have another 'mon with Sleep+False Swipe and then switch to Blissey once it gets low on PP to max it out, then switch back to the former Sleep/False Swipe to keep going. Alternatively you can run Gallade to have Fling/Recycle/Heal Pulse/False Swipe and just Paralyze it for ease of use.

I accidentally found 2 shinies in the span of 30 minutes whilst looking for a 5% encounter rate pokemon I was missing. I can't believe I found 2 fucking shinies before I found the pokemon I actually wanted to catch lmao.
It was an inkay and a galarian zigzagoon, the latter I just decided to use because I thought it looked cool.

As long as their Nature and Ability are useable, I'll train them up and use them.
If not, I usually don't keep them.
If they have 6 perfect stats, or five in the right places, I train them up to level 50. If their stats aren't, I take them up to level 100 so they can be Hyper Trained.

When I was a kid playing Johto and the first time you enter the dark cave next to the city witht he first gym leader, is it possible to encounter Golbat? I remember it perfectly being freaked out because I noticed it did the same sparkly effect you get when you meet the shiny gyarados (I didn't know about shinies at the time) but I knew that encountering a golbat that early in the game should be impossible

I want to shiny hunt giratina, problem is I want it in a moon ball.
I've managed to stock up 7 moon balls, obviously these won't do shit by themselves but if I reset when I don't get a shiny giratina NOR a shiny pokemon then they might actually last me until the end.
However I heard you can't just reset, you need to do something after the reset.
And if I were to do resets, how will I go around it, as in, when do you have to do the reset so the ball is not wasted?

I usually do it in gen 3, I love the stylization that FRLG did with the status screen. That sky blue and slightly whiter background looks good. I also like the sparkles in gen 3, and gen 3 spritework in general.

while golbat is possible to encounter in dark cave, it's not in the area near route 31, only geodude, zubat and dunsparce (and teddiursa if crystal). and even then the area of dark cave where you can find one (near route 45) it's only 5%.
probably either you found a zubat instead or you were looking through the route 45 area as that place also has geodude and zubat.

Another update. I was working on the Turtwig project that Shroomish was for, and I guess there was a Rotom egg in the box I forgot about. I hatched that and it was shiny too.

This is the 3rd Rotom I hatched, the first one in Ultra Sun, and the 2nd one in Sword. I also found one in Dynamax Adventure, but I chose the shiny Druddigon instead. To this day, it's my one shiny Failure since it ruined my 100% shiny catch streak.

But anyways, I think I sorta want to make it a tradition to hatch a shiny rotom in new pairs of games moving forward for the hell of it

Damn SRing for Shinies is like gambling. Once I get to around 1200+ SRs; one part of my brain is telling me to stop, settle for an optimal nature, move on and enjoy the rest of the game, and the other part of my brain is telling me to SR just one more time because I very well could hit the jackpot on the next encounter and it will only take a few seconds and before you know it the day has gone by and I repeat the process the next day none the wiser.

My shiny odds have been astronomical since playing Pearl.

This morning, I woke up and tried to chain Togepi that I was reading about the night before. Got a shiny on the second check.
Last night I got a Staravia in 9 checks.
Two nights ago, a Krikitune completely randomly.
Then before that, a Gastly after something like 5-6 checks.

Why are shiny odds this good?

Because they could very easily enable a shiny lock on Shaymin and Darkrai when they release their events, though I think its pretty unlikely since the box legends aren't locked still either

It would be extra work to lock them, if theyre not locked now theyre not gonna be locked.
And like you said legends are not locked.
Main reason why they lock is because they want to entice people to new events and theres no way to get new shiny legendaries, theres been like 50 ways to get these old legos so theres not much incentive to do so
