Charizard is legit in gen 3. Against the BF it's a fast petaya nuker with blaze. Against players it shits on Skarmory, Blissey, Tyranitar, and Swampert with the right prediction and flies over spikes. It's hard to get in sometimes and is extremely prediction heavy - if not the most, but it can potentially end the game off a single read.
Also the best starter is Swampert by far. He does everyrhing you could possibly want in a water type regardless of if you're playing single player or multi. In fact, he does everything you could possibly want in general. He's the GOAT of starters and only a fool would say otherwise.
