>>48980198I knew someone would call that one out. Here's the QRD: it's a bad game for sure, with cringy dialogue and characters, garbage fakemon interspersed with real mons, and a terrible story, but it's _interesting_ as fuck.
The region is surprisingly well-formed, and gives the vibe of a mysterious, dangerous, rural region better than any other pokemon game I've played. Choices actually matter to a certain degree, and there's three branching story paths. There's lots of random hidden content around, including entire towns that are completely off the map. There's also a medieval kingdom in the top right corner of the map for some reason. It's honestly a joy to explore.
There's enough wrong with the game that I'm comfortably calling it straight up bad, but it has redeeming factors that aren't available elsewhere. 10/10 interesting at least, so kino for me. Your enjoyment depends on how anal you are, and whether you can roll with the badness when it comes up or you get so buttblasted you quit the game.
