>>48979155Not really. Mew has the ability to transform, it's the ultimate (non-legendary) lifeform when it comes to adapting. It adapted to various enviroments and remained in it's new, adapted forms for so long that via evolution it lost it's ability to transform. During millions of years, it's adapted forms began evolving in different ways, resulting in thousands of different species.
Any Pokémon in lore that are older than Mew are either legendary Pokémon or some other sort of special cases, like interdimensional beings or aliens or some shit like that. Every earthborne regular Pokémon should still be it's ancestor.
That said, not sure about gen 8 because I skipped it for being shit.
