>>48983349Will gardevoir ever recover? Such a cool Pokemon, tarnished by an awful fanbase, a massive amount of porn 2nd only to Lucario, and Gamefreak seemingly giving up on them and relegating them to the role of generic cutemon and creating gallade to fill their protector role. Back when they first came out, I can’t put my finger on why, but something about them made me think they would be important as a species. I remember thinking “holy shit! That’s a person!”
Now look where we are. They appear once every blue moon in cutesy roles with cutesy trainers, and nothing more. Or, they make pointless appearances in spin offs. Seems like it wasn’t meant to be.
Maybe in a future generation, a different Pokemon will be created which will live up to gardevoir’s initial expectations. Something specifically designed to blur the lines between monster and person. If that happens, I just hope that gardevoir will at least be remembered fondly as an early prototype which got cucked out of the role.
