>>48990861Pokemon has a really low bar for character writing. The fact that Cheren and Bianca change throughout their games puts them above a majority of the competition.
Remember who they're being compared to, there are fucking persona party members that outperform every single rival in this series. These games are a fucking joke.
If the statement that "Cheren and Bianca have character arcs" sounds like fellating, you really fucking need to play things that aren't pokemon, because having a character arc is the bare fucking minimum of a main cast member of any story. Please, play any other RPG, I'm pretty sure even fucking Xenoblade 2 has more complex characters than most pokemon rivals.
Plasma's motive (the fake one) is the only time an evil team's mission statement is something that normal people would actually agree with.
It's actually pretty realistic that when Ghetsis revealed the actual purpose of team plasma, there were a lot of people who still believe in the original message.
Team Magma wants to drain the oceans because reasons
Team Galactic wants to obliterate reality because emotions bad
Team Rocket are just the mafia
N is the only time the main villain of a pokemon game has presented a conflict that directly interacts with the setting's concept. N can only exist in a series about capturing monsters, whereas villains like cyrus and archie could use any macguffin that ends the world.
I could keep going, the point is that from every angle, Plasma clearly had more thought put into it than any other villainous organization in the franchise. They're only rivalled in quality by the Aether Foundation and Team Skull.
