DP were the worst main line games, sure. They're worse than even XY and SwSh. But even though they were very rough around the edges, they were also probably the most innovative games in the series since they added online features (e.g. Wifi-battles, GTS) and the physical-special split. Platinum fixed most of the problems of DP and is definitely not the worst game, not by a long shot.
