I don't mind people paying for shit, it's just that they keep putting actual content behind paywalls instead of shit like cosmetic items and such, which wouldn't matter. Make skins, clothes, hats, dyes, all sort of customisable shit and make that cost money instead of actual events or items like Elite TMs. Also, remote raiding is fine, but the fact that you can't use regular passes or premium passes for them is such a fucking bullshit decision.

I do tasks, catch, evolve, hatch eggs, hope to see something I don't already have / haven't evolved yet. But 99.999999% of Pokemon spawning I have 300 of them.

I do legendaries until I catch them once, sometimes twice. Just generally kill time, I sometimes I get something new or rare.

Shinies are never important to me.

I have two teams for Reshiram for both Dragon and Fire movesets. For Fire moves, I have a team of six Dragons with optimal PVE movesets, all level 40-50. 2x Rayquaza (40), 2x Palkia (40), Dragonite (50) and Salamence (50). For Dragon moves, I have a team consisting of both Rock- and Ground-type attackers, all at level 40 or higher. 2x Excadrill (40), 2x Rhyperior (Rock moves, 50 & 40), 2x Terrakion (40). If necessary, I have enough of 40+ level Pokémon to make teams against Stone Edge/Crunch variants. Stuff like Dialga/Excadrill for Stone Edge, or Terrakion for Crunch. Why?

Also, my main goal - and my only goal - is collecting my favorite Pokémon as 100IVs and powering them up to max level with double moves. That's all I care for.

I accomplish that by trading 50-100 Pokémon each day (I ask friends to save specific Pokémon I like for me), by walking a certain route and doing all the tasks that reward Pokémon (32 stops on my daily route), by raiding at least once a day and beating every single Grunt I see.

I have a job. Also, I don't consider myself competitive. I hate PoGO's PVP, I avoid most other players aside from few friends. I just have good teams so that we can raid all bosses without the need to consort with people we don't know, it's a hassle. I play pretty casually imo. There's certainly people out here who play far more seriously and I wouldn't even call them competitive players. The fact that you have a goal and you know how to play doesn't make you a compfag.

One of the reasons I collect hundos is that I can make more casual teams of Pokémon I actually like. I've grinded good teams, and since then I've been focusing on making fun teams. My 4* "for fun" Ground team for example consists of Pokémon like Rhydon and Golurk, and my "for fun" Electric team has Pokémon like A-Golem and Ampharos, all Pokémon that I like, all level 50. That's the goal.

But the fact of the matter is, that if you want to duo a legendary boss, that boring-as-fuck team of six three star Reshirams at level 30 is more efficient. That's why I have "good teams". They allow me to focus on building fun teams.

I'm currently hunting that 4* Donphan to add to my incomplete Ground team, and trying to gather XL for my 4* Bisharp, for my Dark team. Because they're Pokémon I like. I have great Ground and Dark teams with better Pokémon already, but I don't care.

I focus on fun, but also aknowledge that the game has been made in such a way that you also have to know what you're doing and do it in the most efficient way, if you want to get it done. If I could solo legendaries with my fun teams, I'd immediately delete everything that isn't 100IV.

It's not much thought. I simply kept good Pokémon and powered them up so I can use them while raiding, until I didn't have to. After that, I've focused on collecting and powering up the 4* Pokémon I like. How is this putting "much thought"? It's not like I'm calculating optimal breakpoints and DPS*TDO to duo some hard legendary with 3 seconds to spare. I use better teams when there's a need, otherwise I use my fun teams. How is that complicated?

To be honest, I didn't read your walls of text originally, but now that I have, I can say I'm in a similar boat. I do try to prioritize Pokémon that are generally stronger than others, but my general direction is to focus on hundos I like and think are strong. Haven't really invested all that much in dragons/specifically Reshiram counters, but a lot of my current efforts have been invested either it cool shadow Pokémon or current/future megas I plan on using. I'm currently hunting a (near) perfect shadow Tangela or Murkrow (I already have enough XL candy for the latter, by not even close to a hundos yet).

Is there an overall definitive set of tier lists for each of the PvP modes and PvE? I have a ton of mons with 3-star stats that I can never tell if they're worth investing in or just transferring.
Like I know the best stats for each mon can be found in Stadium Gaming's site, but I just want overall tier lists to know what mons are worth keeping.
Plus what mons should be purified or kept shadow. Got a Starly and a Zubat that could be 100% if I purified them.

It's okay, I have a pretty dry way of writing, and my messages are long as fuck. And same here, I hunt for 4* Pokémon I like. I collect them in general, but only actively TRY to hunt the ones I care for.
I've noticed that during this last year or so, there's been an abundance of 4* Pokémon compared to previous years. I've literally caught more than half of my 4* Pokémon in 2021, and I've played since 2016.

Mostly I've gotten them through trading and doing research tasks, I have absolutely terrible luck with raiding.
For comparison, I have 180 hundos, two of them are legendaries.
A friend has about 150 hundos, 14 legendaries. He's done less Legendary raids than I have. I remember when we duoed Rayquaza when it got released, and beat 130 of them. I didn't get a hundo. He got three.

Ampharos my GOAT in Silver back in 2000, and one of my all-time favorite Pokémon. When I started Pokémon Go, my first 10KM egg hatch was a 100% Mareep. It was the first Pokémon I powered up to level 40, and it was the first Pokémon I grinded to a Best Buddy.

I'm currently trying to catch as much Mareep as possible so I can get the XL candy it needs for me to power it up to level 50.

Also, it's a fucking crime that Ampharos doesn't get better moves. I know it's not a great Pokémon, especially in Go, but I hate the fact it has to rely on shit like Zap Cannon and Thunder Punch. Just give it Thundershock and Wild Charge already, it's not like it'd be too imbalanced with them, it's a pretty middling Pokémon. But at least it could be even somewhat useful in PVE.

Also, I wish they gave it Fire Punch simply because my OG Silver Ampharos always carried it for coverage, and together with Thundershock it could break shields and spam relatively well in PVP, even if I don't much care for PVP. I just like it when less-than-amazing Pokémon like Ampharos have at least SOME potential uses.

(I like Ampharos enough that if they actually did something wild and gavce it Thunder Shock, Power-Up Punch and Fire Punch, I'd actually play PVP just to see my boy shine.)

Main series lost it's appeal for me after 7th gen. I've never been a genwunner or anything like that, but somehow Sword and Shield just seemed so boring, and the way the new remakes look is so disappointing I didn't buy them either. I still actively play the old ones for fun, but it's just me doing personal meme runs like completing the game with only a Jigglypuff and shit like that. Back in the day I was a full-on PVP autist in the main series, but it became too much of a chore.

I agree that PoGO _IS_ shit, but it's a casual, brainless collectathon that I can play socially, and I can't focus on min-maxing seriously on a game anymore, so this is a nice middleground for me.

Ironically, shinies also lost their shine (shit pun intended) for me when chaining and shiny hunting became a thing in main series. They became way too common and everyone had them. That ruined them. I loved shinies back in they day when they were so fucking rare that if you claimed you had a Pokémon as a shiny, you had to take your GameBoy to school to prove it or else no one believed you.

These days you can encounter full-shiny teams playing online and they're not even hacked because it's so easy to get them.

And in Pokémon Go they're fucking EVERYWHERE. I encounter shinies almost daily now. They've became so common I've grown to actively dislike them to the point I'd rather power up a non-shiny than a shiny one, even if they had the same IVs.

Also, like previously mentioned, people frothing over shinies has resulted in Niantic thinking that building actual shit events around individual new shinies is acceptable and it's legitimately ruining the game imo.

They keep spamming short, shitty events instead of doing bigger, scarcer and better events with actual content. Event ended 3 days ago? Give them a new one, build it around that one shit Pokémon whose shiny is still unreleased and make it last for a week, that'll keep 'em busy. Rinse and repeat ad infinitum.

This just reminded me of a theory I had after the Kanto event: I think that they're grooming the base into potentially buying what might become a series of "games within a game," even beyond regional tours
The price itself matches the price of a standalone mobile game. So, it seems odd to sell an experience (which is basically a chance to fill a Dex if you have someone to trade with) that's barely 10% of a standalone game for the same price.
People have asked, "what is GO gonna do when it runs out of gens?"
This might be what we're looking at: New gens released as these experiences released right alongside the mainline RPGs. I know it doesn't make sense, but you have to consider it from a franchise that cashes in on both FOMO and nostalgia. They want in every angle they can get in this market. Pervasiveness means grooming. Pokemon didn't get to where it was by focusing on just one group.
Someone I knew said they'd never reveal a new Pokemon in GO. A few weeks later, we got Meltan.

Explain how. To further elaborate: I only power up 4* Pokémon simply because I have no need for anything at this point, and the game offers no worthwhile challenge. Collecting Pokémon is the goal of the game, but I have every Pokémon in my Pokédex that is in the game. Shinies are boring due to being too common, and don't add any functionality to a Pokémon. I dislike PVP for being a boring, monotonous click-fest that awards you with resources I don't need.

What is there to do in this game if you don't want to collect shinies and don't care for PVP? All the gyms near me are gold, and I don't care for that either. I play this game for the Pokémon themselves. How is it autistic to focus on doing what is the intended main feature of the game, and further within it, add some challenge to it in a game where you have reached the main goal of catching 'em all?

The only logical alternative is just to stop playing. And I don't want to. I enjoy it still, and I play with my friends. Who are all at the same stage in the game as me: They only focus on collecting perfect Pokémon and don't really care for anything else.

Explain what in my way of playing is autistic, especially in comparison to the shinyfags who cream their pants and shovel more money to Niantic any time they give some absolute shit Pokémon a shiny form.

The perfect ones, again, I collect simply for the fun of collecting and additional challenge. I don't care about the performance. A 0% Reshiram at level 35 outperforms my 100% level 50 Chandelure, but I simply don't care. I like Chandelure. So I use it. Such autism. Such obsession with numbers, oh wow.

Okay, you’ve convinced me lol. I cede my point when you put it like that and desu I agree with you a lot and have a similar background. I agree, SWSH wasn’t very engaging to me at all, tho I played it more than SUMO. I’m actually enjoying BDSP, would honestly recommend but get the price of it is a bit much.

For me, shinies haven’t lost their appeal much. I actually found my first wild in game shine this play through of brilliant Diamond, tho that may be more to your point lol. I agree tho, the “event” systems they have set up in pogo rn are pure shit and it is unfortunately a shit game still but yeah I agree it’s a fun casual collectathon that I still enjoy with the “added bonus” of online playing with friends

You're a piece of shit and deserve to die and they will report you and beat your Pokémon off of any and all gyms so you can't get coins, ever, and they shun you even worse and straight up refuse to raid with you. If you pop into a raid lobby, they all leave and re-enter with a private lobby.

(Meanwhile all the big level people who bitch about this play with second accounts, but it's "different" since they're playing for their children or their wives or husbands or someone else who just can't play right now, and they need the help so I can use it in the exact way I don't want you to use your secondary account AND to boot I can do all the not-cool shit like make room for myself on gyms.)

Funnily enough, all the worst offenders are Team Mystic and it has led to a sort of orange alliance where I live.

I can attest to PGSharp on Android, although I think it only works with PTC logins. The app is very beneficial and lets you throw 100% hit excellent throws with skipped caught animations. Back in May I only had enough XP to hit Level 43, which gave me an inferiority complex to my normie female friends who were 46+. Now I'm only a couple mil away from 50

Holy shit anon, you just made me chuckle out loud at how relatable your post is. Over a year ago I was known as the local notorious spoofer, so I changed my username and team from Valor to Instinct and made a promise to myself to only assign gyms in my area when playing in person.

I would either immediately get kicked out within an hour, or stay a little longer with other Pokemon in the gym, and they would still kick me out but not the others.

I'm banned from the local Discord so I made an alt to lurk in there. It's all age 30+ people who are always either circle jerking about whatever shiny or 4* they just caught, share a screenshot of a CP69 mon they encountered, or some other generic sexual/phallic reference to Combusken, Nuzleaf, Cradily, Palkia, Victini, or even Thundurus

It's not a dragon event. It's a Dragonspiral Tower event. There were only three dragons in Dragonspiral Tower, including Dratini, Druddigon, and Reshiram/Zekrom, which are all accounted for in this event. We had a dragon event a few months ago.

I've been playing since 2016 on and off. Dratini is clearly better than those shitmons, but they can obviously make a better spawn pool with those lesser mons. The ones like Dratini and Gible which have had cds could be rarer spawns and the new but worse dragons like Deino, Axew and so on could be rarer since Niantic likes keeping those new shitmons rare.

Also, they could easily time it so that there's a community day weekend during this, and make it be that of Goomy or Axew. Aside from that, add in shinies for something less useful like Skrelp and for something more sought-after like Noibat. Which could also be a prize for a research task.

They could also create one of those timed, multi-page research things that would award relevant Pokémon.
Maybe also add in more Dragon-type Team Go Rocket grunts with something like Dratini as their lead Pokémon, and make the three commanders have Trapinch, Skrelp and Horsea as their lead Pokémon.

On top of that, cosmetic items for your character seems a given and easy enough to design. Backpacks with Salamence's wings, hats with Dragonite's antennas and such.

(Honestly, knowing how Niantic makes these events, it's not hard to come up with this stuff. They're all the same.)

Man, why do region locked Pokémon even fucking exist? I just want my Klefki, Heracross, Corsola, Torkoal, Relicanth, Sigilyph, Carnivine, Maractus and Bouffalant.

Klefki especially, that little fucker is quite possibly my favorite Pokémon ever and if I had the chance, I'd catch every single one I ever come across in hopes of catching a 4* or a good shiny or something.
