Honestly I don't understand why people do runs. Making up artificial rules is shit tier, and adds nothing to the game. You beat pokemon, move on and try other games.

OP do you have a favourite movie? And have you watched that movie multiple times?

It’s that simple. There’s a lot of replay value in these games because there’s a lot of different ways you can beat them. It’s even more of a unique experience than rewatching your favourite movie is.

Not persay, I will watch the same movie once every 4 years. With torrenting and streaming sites there are infinite movies to be watched and I go out of my way to see as much as I can.

No, there isn't you beat the fucking gyms, you go through the same story the end. You aren't getting rewards or different cutscenes by doing this shit. This wasn't how it was designed to be played. Play another game, have another experience.

If it's something you do in private or with your friends to genuinely prolong the enjoyment you're getting from one of your favorite games, it's based.

Pokemon challenge runs, and artificial limitations on any video game, are not stupid by nature. Turning it into a spectacle for the village idiots and stroking your dick at how you needed to gimp the game for attention is the problem.

you can get a new experience out of a pokemon game just by going through it with a team you didnt use before, it forces you to develop new strategies, it IS another experience
same applies to challenge runs

that's what we had stadium for back in the day. Anything worth training was found near the end of the game and it was difficult to level at that point. Hence why we used the missingno cheat to get everything to lvl 50 and have good moves so you could enter them.
