As far as mimic mons go I prefer the foongus line design wise for its more naturalistic approach to the same concept but mechanic wise the volt orb line is way better.

It’s hilarious. Gen 1 may be outdated but even in 2021 it STILL has the best and most memorable dungeons because of shit like this

Pokeballs are also insanely ever-present iconography in the pokemon world, people are naturally going to be at ease around them
It's like if people used leaves as currency, bugs that look like leaves would be solid mimics in addition to having natural camo in trees and bushes
