Actually calyrex would make sense here, its the only pokemon known to be able to dynamax without using eternatus dynamax energy. We dont know why but in a way its almost as important as eternatus

my guess about giants would be the regis, because that's the terminology swsh uses for them. Maybe there were regis of each type, but only the rock, steel, and ice survived the ages due to being "hard" types

This chart doesnt really make sense just on a power level perspective. If they're all enfused into a plate wouldn't they have somewhat equal power. Interdimensional beings and space gods like necrozma and eternatus dont really compare to groudon and kyogre who just move land and water

It's in the ORAS cutscene when he comes out of the ocean and does the ITS FUCKING NOTHING pose, you can see him create what looks like an artificial sun over Sootopolis
The fact that they were worried about it destroying the whole planet from heat waves also implies it's a bit more than just "clearing the clouds to make it a bit more sunny"

Sunny Day is shown clearing the sky and creating a ball of light that acts as a miniature sun. Groudon's just doing that on a bigger scale, it's not that impressive. Also Eternatus' entire existence is leaking energy so potent it causes Pokemon to spontaneously mutate just because they're within thousands of miles of it and passively distorting the space within a similar range.

My legendary head cannon is that each game is its own version of the pokemon multiverse and the legendaries of those games are canonically as powerful as the legends say while other legendaries in other regions are just regional folklore
Fire red & leaf green, ruby, sapphire, emerald, OR and AS would all be different realities

I always took the "lore of defeated giants" as just a tongue in cheek reference to how Zeus overthrew the Titans.

Even if we took it literally, some of these fit, but others don't. Xerneas/Yveltal aren't giants, and we can only assume the Original Dragon's size.

We also have to ask when/why did Arceus defeat these "titans" to begin with. If true, perhaps Game Freak has yet to introduce them.
