Sure you can catch an unown, but you'll never be allowed to use a signature move or ability from it. It's like catching a squid and then saying you've tamed cthulu or holding a cross and saying you've the power of god, it's just not the case.
If unown were cuter they'd have gotten an update, but sadly unown aren't marketable and are even scary to children because of their eldritch nature. Shilling cinderace is better
