ITT: We create a regional Pokedex from 151 Digimon

We can fill in the standard patterns first and then branch out.

Wouldn't it be more interesting to have it be a few that branch out in many directions? Something like how the Virtual Pets were set, but using daycare center Eggs to increase your numbers instead of being one being going through different reincarnations since Pokémon would be the base game.
EVs, Nature, and Happiness could determine what evolution are available since those the the closest to care conditions in Pokémon.
Something like evolving at level 5 to Baby II/In-Training, around level 16 for Child/Rookie, 28 for Adult/Champion level, 40s for Perfect/Ultimate, and very specific conditions for Ultimate/Mega. You could have a few evolution items incorporated as well, but those seem like they would not available until late game.

Digimon has elemental attributes grouped together like Fire/Grass/Water but anything outside that parameter is neutrally effective. Water/Fire/Ice is the closest

kind of. by the time i got to chansey i realized marine angemon would have been a good choice but i already used it. instead i used the cakes and figured they could be like combee and vespiquen. i mainly tried to mimmick the kanto dex but i also pulled inspiration from other gens too. kunemon and dokunemon were chosen to be like cascoon and silcoon but without a wurmple like first stage they evolve from.

Yeah but it won't have the same type effectiveness. Digimon also has the Virus/Vaccine/Data attribute trio, so you could pick starters that have those and use the elements Grass/Fire/Water; Pic related, threw it together quickly
