She later went to the town doctor, who diagnosed the Raichu with a rare, incurable condition related to the flow of her electricity, and therefore her blood throughout her body. You didn't know this at the time, though. All you saw is that the girl kept coming in for missions less and less, and eventually couldn't pull her weight enough to keep her position in the guild. Thankfully, they kept their word and gave her the best of care in the ward used to house the sick rescues and members.
You checked in on her from time to time but because you never really knew her, and only just recruited her before the mission you went on together, your visits were always really awkward and you never really knew what to say. You listened to her stories about where she came from and how she found herself here and it wasn't terribly interesting to be honest. As the days rolled on and you toiled through your rescue missions you started to visit her less and less, but she wasn't really able to speak to anyone by that point anyway. You couldn't really find the time to visit her more than once a month, and she was barely responsive by then. You couldn't really bear to look at someone like that anymore.
Your visits stopped, and she died soon afterwards. You weren't there when it happened, you were trying your hardest on yet another daily mission. It was a success. That was what you tried to focus on as your tired mind ruminated while you lay on the hay in the dead of night, waiting for the thoughtless haze of sleep to take you to get away from these invasive thoughts.
Yet another mission in the morning, with another new recruit. You can only hope that the blessing of good health shines upon them.
