I've seen people get excited over teaser trailers that show ZERO gameplay, just because of "muh realistic grafix".
I've seen people completely reject games and refuse to consider them just because they're 2D.
A game being fun is no longer the metric by which to measure its quality; it's how much it resembles reality.
You want realism so bad? GO OUTSIDE.
