>>49035649Digimon couldnt compete with pokemon because since day1 it limited the potential of its fanbase, pokemon has a lot of simple kid friendly designs and leans into the more animal aspect of them which allowed many people to think of them as pets. digimon decides to focus more on fights and most of the digimon are knight esque or extremely edgy designs, limiting their fanbase to mostly teenage boys, if you dont find knights, giant monsters, and women cool youll likely not like digimon but pokemon designs have something for everyone.
Despite this digimon has been able to hold its own for decades, it doesnt need to "compete" with pokemon because its already found its niche and has been successful.
Habu(Cyber Sleuth director) is someone that genuinely cares about the franchise and seems to actually understand the appeal of digimon which so many previous directors didnt, under him the games have been slowly getting better and I have faith that he will deliver again with survive
