>>49038961>pretending that most of the ones given to stronger mons weren't either sidegrades or downgradesBecause they fucking weren't. Here's the list of megas given to "stronger" mons
>Salamenceobjective upgrade
>Metagrossobjective upgrade
>Gengarobjective Upgrade
>Lucarioobjective Upgrade
>Alakazamupgrade, not objective because you can argue that focus sash is more valuable, but the fact that Mega Alakazam was OU while regular Alakazam was UUBL says it all.
>Mewtwoobjective upgrade, not that it mattered because it was still shit
>Scizorobjective upgrade
>TyranitarMega had higher usage though both were OU, so upgrade, even if barely
>Blazikenworse solely because it couldn't hold a Life Orb. This wasn't intentional balancing on GF's part.
>Gardevoirobjective upgrade
>Mega Latiasobjective upgrade
>Mega Latiosboth in OU
>Dianiceobjective upgrade
>Rayquazalol
Megas that changed a Pokemon's function on a team were fe wand far between and you know it, faggot. Mega Garchomp and Mega Venusaur were the exceptions to the rule, most of the strong shillmons that got access to it just got their best aspects roided out with no consideration to balance.
>pretending nuke gimmicks have any sort of positive aspects to themDynamax has had a pretty positive effect on VGC if Incineroar jumping up to 60% usage in no-Dynamax formats has anything to say about it. GF balances with Doubles in mind, so I'd say it was a success.
