>>49037572yeah, while i can look past low-res textures for the most part since there have to be a lot of them in the game, it hardly feels like there's a cohesive or unique art style to this game. you'd think with the animated trailers we saw that they'd go for a sort of calligraphy/watercolor inspired look like okami or the PMD remakes, but i guess not?? if you took the sky and put a watercolor sky (or something similar) it would look way better. but for so many screenshots of this game, hardly anything works together.
and yes, gameplay > graphics. but pokemon graphics were always at least passable (for the most part) even if they were less detailed compared to other games on their console, and at least the assets usually fit together with nothing looking out of place. this just looks actively bad - not to mention the lack of gameplay we know about, and what we do know (watch mons use moves as "gameplay") is concerning to say the least. if good gameplay can save average graphics, then bad graphics can drag down average gameplay.
