>>49043434Sword and Shield are objectively the best games in the series, and it's thanks to the power of DLC. The future games should continue the trend of DLC to replace third installments, and it could be even better to have an entire game whose generation is defined by multiple DLC expansion passes.
For example, a gen 10 game could feature a Kanto expansion pass where you can enter a boxed-in mini Kanto and can capture exclusively Kanto mons and it's legends. Likewise, this can be done for other regions like Kalos, Alola, and Galar. You can also incorporate a power-up move DLC pass that brings back Mega-Evolutions, Z-moves, and Dynamax/Gigantimax forms. You can also do a Mini-Game pass which gives benefits to your Pokemon while reincorporating old features like Pokestar Studios, Pokeathalon, and of course, Pokemon Contests.
As always, these things can be bought separately like Smash (i.e you can just buy Steve and his music/stage by itself,) but it would be cheaper to buy a pass altogether.
As a whole, this will make the Pokemon franchise a franchise brimming with hype for every new DLC reveal, and will make the usual length of the games longer than any previous installment.
