I'll start, recently I finished 100%ing both Platinum and White 2 which was super enjoyable

Had SoulSilver when I was a stupid kid. Caught a level 2 Pidgey and thought it would be funny to call it "Legendary" for some reason, because of its low level. Somehow managed to press both Back and OK with my finger so its name was "Legendar".
I knew already that there was a way to change names (not my first game) so just laughed it off. But by the time I had gotten far enough in the game to rename, I had become so attached to Legendar the now Pidgeotto that I couldn't bring myself to rename.
Still have Legendar, currently chilling in White. I have a soft spot for Pidgeot because of her.

I took the time to inject a Cyndaquil with the learnset it SHOULD have, if GF cared about anything other than Charizard, and it makes him so much more fun to use. I get that GF doesn't like changing abilities except to nerf a Pokémon, but I really think Typhlosion would benefit from a better HA, like Berserk, or White Smoke.

What's funny is that Typhlosion is much more popular than Charizard according to many polls, despite the clear bias and shilling from GF.

Got a shiny Darkrai from that one event back in the day, didn't fully process that I got lucky with it until much later. My past self named it Dark Joker and its still my trophy mon. Other random shinies I got are a Dustox, Kingler, and Carracosta.

I found my old copy of emerald (first pokemon game I played) recently. Booted it up on my old gameboy micro and had a nice time revisiting my old team and seeing the dumb little names I gave them.

Being a dipshit little idiot when a childhood friend was staying over for the night once. We were trying to figure out what the Unown runes in the Ruins of Alph were saying in Crystal and we both forgot that "Escape" was an actual word, so there we are going "What the fuck does es-cap-e mean" like a pair of retards. DP was the first time I really "kept up" with Pokemon as a franchise as it was happening in Japan, keeping up with the localization, watching fansubs, being dissapointed by the dub's OP, but still watching it anyway, just muting the english intro, loving the new legendary Pokemon thinking they were most epic shit in the franchise and frankly still kinda are, eagerly getting the game after school at Walmart the week it came out, getting Drifloon without even knowing it was only obtainable on Fridays, getting my ass kicked by the hardest E4 yet

It was pretty magical. And only Gen 5 has came closest to matching it

My uncle was huge into imports and let me borrow his Japanese gold version which was still a year away from coming out in the US. Getting to experience it early and showing my friend all the new mons coming out and hyping him up was nothing short but rad. I ended up getting stuck in Golden Rod and would later find out in the US release that all I needed was a damn watering can.

I remember going to some videogame store in the mall when Pokemon Stadium 2 released. They had pic related and I got so excited when I saw the sign that said it was free, until the clerk explained that it was free with the collector's edition of the game or something. But since I was so excited he gave one to me anyway and that was just a really big deal to me. The actual poster got really beat up over the years so some years back I bought a new one to replace it.

Also remember when my family has a japanese foreign exchange students stay with us. At the time Pokemon still hadn't been around for long so I hadn't learned all of their names yet. I had some japanese cards and I wanted her to tell me their names. I didn't know the names were different from english nor did I realize a normal person might have trouble figuring out how to pronounce them, so I was confused with the answers she gave me.

Gen 5 wasn’t my first gen, but I have the happiest memories with it. It’s the only gen where I still listen to the anime’s OP and credits songs from time to time

Talking with one of my friends in middle school about how cool ORAS was, possible Megas, and making a FakeDex with him. Also talking with another friend about the XY anime. There was also this one time I distinctly remember in 5th grade getting free time in class so I put my headphones on to listen to the Gen 5 OST while playing games. There was also afterschool when I was younger where everyone played the Gen 4 TCG and games, the TCG being what got me into Pokemon. 4, 5, and 6 to me was the best time to be a fan of the series.

Finding the regis in gen 3 was probably my happiest memory playing pokemon. I was like 9-10 yrs old at the time and I remember going to the library to find a book on braille because I barely knew anything about it. That feeling of writing down notes and translating little by little gave me the biggest sense of accomplishment.
