People werent joking with the gen 2 level curve. Blue being high 40's to low 50s and Red being high 70s really makes no sense.
I get hes the final boss but I'm trying to get my mons to just the mid 50s low 60s and its a pain in the ass.

I blame the fact that after beating the elite four the Kanto post game seemed mostly just a small bit of extra content. Even collecting their badges seemed like just a victory lap. I may be not be remembering correctly but the entire region was barren enough that I think I only just leveled a few times through the entire time being there before meeting Red and seeing such a level jump. Felt like Red was meant more like a secret boss if anything. Elite Four was the only place to grind up levels at that point of the game.

Because some of those level 3 or 4 pokemon you find can only be found in those locations.

If you ever want to use them in your team have fun levelling them all the way up and having hardly any trainers to face exept the remaining gyms and repeating the elite 4

Murkrow is catchable at level 17. If you give it an EXP share it will be caught up with your team by Blue, and if you're not a retarded shitter you can use it before then, against Sabrina for example.

Just come up with a strategy to beat him without grinding. Most people who play GCS beat read at around 50, it’s completely doable. My guess is they made him so high leveled to discourage the “grind to their level” mindset and forge players to actually think up a strategy to win. Little did they know Pokémon players would rather grind for several hours than strategize

Most boomers who grew up with Gen 2 and were blinded by nostalgia and were propagating that it's the best gen etc, have reached or passed their 30s and have left the community. The new generation is unbiased and after trying out gen 2 they realised it's total shit. The only Johtoschizos left feel exposed for liking shit and don't know where to hide nowadays. It's honestly pathetic, seeing them trying to justify stuff like the fact that you face Level 3 pokemon in the post-game kek.

If the game was more linear it wouldn’t have this issue. Since a bit of Johto and most of Kanto can be done in different orders they decided to make trainers and especially wild Pokémon ridiculously low leveled.
