ORAS mogs every other pokemon, it's hard to go back to earlier or even get into newer titles, this is one you can actually play through and enjoy catching pokemon in

The DS games are better, but ORAS and USUM are my favorite 3D Pokemon games. If they combined the overworld shiny encounters from LGPE with the Dexnav from ORAS it would be amazing.

ORAS seems to be very divisive just like the Gen 5 games. People either loathe/despise it or love it (like in the review below). I feel it's good, but I wouldn't consider them great since they clearly cut corners and it comes across as lazy and rushed, though the same can be said for most newer Pokemon games.

I don't care for many of the other minor Emerald additions like Mirage Tower, Desert Underpass, Trainer Hill, etc. but ORAS should've had the Battle Frontier at least instead of a copy-paste Battle Maison. That was clearly laziness and makes it a subpar remake. But even though it's not a good remake, it's a good game by nugen standards I feel.

I loved AS and played the original Sapphire AND Emerald back in the day. It was a good remake despite not having the BF and copy pasting the facility from the previous set of games. Hoenn is a blast to explore and the remastered soundtrack is exceptional. They actually did us good by giving us Latios/Latias and Deoxys as a way to make up for not being accessible events in-game for the originals without hacking, but failed to give us a Jirachi event..
