I think people really just miss the battle factory. The others were neat but I wouldn't mind if those changed to new kinds of facilities like an inverse battle facility, a "little cup" facility, etc.

It was kino and severly missed in ORAS, never got filtered by RNG because for every time some whack happened, it wouldn't the next battle. Also people that don't run Aerial Ace on Metagross are plebs. Took 3 1/2 years of playing once or twice a week to complete and my only regret is that I did it with a dry battery.

factory is great but so are pike and imo pyramid is even better for decisionmaking rougelike shit, scavening for items while being hounded by powerful wilds and status never gets old
also if you never got hyped in palace when your last mon clutches out a victory out of nowhere you don't have a soul

I don't think we really missed the Battle Frontier in ORAS, we just didn't like being teased about it in-game. I think that was disrespectful AF.

The thing about the Battle Frontier is that it basically incentivized you to actually get good, learn strategies, and learn the mechanics to beat these facilities.

Modern Gamefreak thinks giving you a single battle tower and online is good enough.

The appeal of the Battle Frontier is that you had a variety of ways for a single player enjoyment. Instead of just exclusively online.

This. If it's trying to be a faithful remake (the original RS didn't even have the BF), then why even mention the Battle Frontier at all?

GF reasoned that games shouldn't include these facilities because their stats showed that barely anyone beat them, in an era where making competitive pokemon was a complete slog, and if you already caught a bad legendary/one-off, you had to reset your game to go for another nature/IV etc. This was also in a time where GF did not acknowledge IVs/EVs, and barely alluded to natures, so children likely went in with their ingame teams, got their asses handed to them, and didn't bother again because they didn't understand why their pokemon sucked. As someone who understood the competitive system I barely bothered myself because I didn't care to play bicycle simulator. Facilities with the QoL we have now would be great.

Not really. Most of the people bitching didn't even play it in the original. And why would they when it's 5 facilities of frustrating RNG that requires you to cheat to get good EVs/IVs to even really experience it?

how does intellect and skill overcome RNG? I mean I got the gold symbol in emerald but it could have easily not happened if a meteor mash missed, or if a quick claw proc'd for the opponents OHKO move, etc. You just have to play the best move for the situation and hope the favorable odds play out as you'd expect.

Battle Factory is just awesome. I always pick Ice - Ground - Dragon, and I always win.
Surrender to Earthquake!

Battle Pike I don't like it so much, but only because I have shit luck. I may have good mons, but I have bad luck. Nothing ain't solving that.

Battle Arena is fun. 3 rounds fight really leaves me on edge.

Battle Palace is bullshit. "Oh, your mon that is basically unstoppable can focus his power because of it's nature". Bullcrap! I made this mean killer machine, fed it enough pokesteroids, and killed thousands of innocent EV carriers to make it invincible, and now he goes back, just because? That's dumb!

Battle Pyramid: see Battle Pike

Battle Dome. 4 easy fights it's good, but why my trainer isn't more popular? I mean, if Tucker is that famous, I should be an international star!

Battle Tower. Fuck Anabel and her 2nd-fight Latios. Pseudo legendaries shouldn't count!

Playing Emerald on an emulator with quick save states makes the pike a lot more bearable IMO

The Tower & Factory are the only two that most people really care about. Going forward I think the best option for the developers and the playerbase would be to have a Battle Tower/Factory as two separate locations instead of being a part of a Battle Frontier
