Weird how everyone complains about how it makes no sense for Lucario to have the Steel type but no one ever talks about Mawile being Steel type for no reason, even though it came one gen before Lucario and the Dark type would have worked so much better on it.

we've had many a thread. I don't think fans are complaining because fairy/steel is a great typing for it now, but yes dark does fit it more and it feels like GF just had a steel quota in gen 3 to fill.

They at least mention what part of Mawile is made of steel, and it's a pretty integral part of it's design too. So fine, you want the mouth to be like a steel trap, it's a bit of a reach but whatever.

Lucario on the other hand they never remotely elaborate on, we're just supposed to assume it's from those three pointless spikes on it's body that it never actaully uses for anything.

Everyone agrees Mawile makes sense as a Steel type though. It's teeth are made of iron.
What doesn't make sense is that it's a Fairy type despite being an nasty underhanded motherfucker that'd fit better as a Dark type.
