They keep the inset look but combine together to look like a toothy grin, while the new eyes are formed from nothing but lines on the surface
To be accurate, Hisuian Electrode would use the brow ridge as a beard with a new upper face made from engravings in the wood or something- the whole thing could probably emulate the look of one of those faceplates on samurai helmets pretty well, especially with strategic use of holes to the hollow interior
