Newsflash kid, fire-breathing dragons (and dragon lookalikes) have always been popular with pre-teen kids (hell, Disney released Pete's Dragon in 1977 to cadge off that, before rebooting it in 2016 to get the zoomie pre-teens).

if blasto and venu got the same shilling of charizard, they would be easily more popular.
the first anime didn't evne let Bulb and Squirtle to evolve so Charizard get all the attention.

That isn't how it works, idiot. Bulbasaur and Squirtle didn't evolve because they were more popular then their final evolutions. Charizard was always the most popular member of it's line and the most popular final evolution of the Gen 1 starters. That is why it became Ash's ace in the OG series.

People like Dragons, they're fucking badass, powerful and have been the centrepiece of many a myth or legend for fucking donkeys years.
People are intrinsically drawn to fire as arguably fire is what caused us to advance, to socialize, cook, use tools, etc.
It's not fucking rocket science to put 2 and 2 together and realise "OH HEY, THIS COOL FIRE DRAGON MAY HAVE MORE MASS APPEAL THAN FLOWER FROG OR CANNON TURTOISE/TORTLE!!!"
You act like one starter being cooler than the rest is a new thing, whats next, gonna be surprised the Ninja Frog is exponentially more popular than Mage Fox or Ugly Chestnut Man?
I get having a preference but come on man. Subjective appeal and mass appeal are two very different beasts.
