>>49079832Thanks. I'm going to look into this. I'm interested in romhacking gen 7, but don't know what tools I need. I've done some but only know some tools that work with gen 6 so idk if there's better choices for gen 7.
I'd be inclined to unpack the ROM with ctrtool, edit things like text and encounters using pk3ds, extract numbered romfs files using garctool, export models using Ohana3DS (possibly Rebirth, possibly the old VB one), edit in Blender, then repack stuff using Ohana3DS (the VB one, Rebirth always seems to crash when I try to import a model), and garctool to produce files that can be used with LayeredFS. I'm not sure if there's a way to get pk3ds to say which files it modified, but if not I'd extract the ROM again and use Nirsoft SearchMyFiles to identify and delete ones that are the same between the unmodified ROM and what it edited, leaving just modified ones to stick in LayeredFS.
