yes, there was even a beta Marowak evolution that resembled Kangaskhan if I recall correctly

yeah you can see it in pic related
so yes, Cubone is deffinitely related in some way to Kangaskhan. It's barely even just a theory since it's been heavily hinted and GameFreak themselves even made a Marowak evolution that resembles Kangaskhan at one point.

If it's an orphaned baby Kangaskhan, why does it evolve into Marowak instead of growing up into an adult Kangaskhan? This theory has never made sense.
