I'm pretty sure if Jynx was ever going to get a third evolution it would have been in Gen IV when Electabuzz and Magmar did. That ship has sailed I think. But the fact that they left Jynx in in Gen VIII instead of just cutting it completely makes me think that maybe it will at least get a regional or something down the line

Doing a psychic monotype run of Blaze Black, where I've used Jynx for the first time. Always found Jynx to be pretty off-putting, but after using her I've come around a bit. She's been pretty decent, kinda frail but I suppose that's to be expected with her typing.

All fanmade evos/megas miss the entire point of Jynx. She's supposed to be "beautiful" in a bizarre funhouse version way. Psychics in Gen I were usually designed in a way that emphasized their weird or otherworldy nature, and Jynx was no exception. Just making her into a generic "pokefucker bait" mon does a huge disservice to how good the original concept is (and very, very few fan designs actually play into the several layers of mythological and contemporary influences that went into her design as well, which is another massive point against them).

If Jynx was cancelled she would have stayed in the dex cut along with a lot of the other Pokemon, but they brought her back in the dlc. I don't think she is, it just seems like they have no ideas for her. Which I am happy for considering the shit they pulled with Mr. Mime in Galar.

Why is she ICE?
None of the gen1 Ice types have anything ice-related to them execpt articuno. Feels like a last-minute Type that they gave to some waterpokemons so the dex wouldnt be filled with pure Waters.

That's exactly it. Whenever I played the games as a kid I never thought of Jynx as anything but Jynx. It was just its own thing. The only people who got offended by it were people completely detached from the series who make a living by shutting other people's stuff down, like the lady who kicked off the whole redesign thing. They're just getting offended for the sake of being offended by something. It's such a nonissue that people just turned into something bigger because they wanted to gripe about something
