>>49094403not that anon, but if you ask me, the drop in quality was the change to 3d pokemon. For all the good that comes from 3d pokemon, they still don't use it to the degree they have, compared to the sprite work that makes a lot of pokemon really expressive through gen 5.
Also to me, megas are a missed opportunity in the end, they made megas for fan favorites instead of using them to fix underused pokemon, but we all knew that would happen in the end. Just the fact that in XY you are handed 2 free starters just rubs me the wrong way, and really props the game up imo, whereas if you play without it, it is kinda flawed when it comes to pokemon variety.
But I will always give XY a pass for biting off the 3D chunk that was too much for it and made the game suffer imo, but I hoped they would utilize the 3d a lot more, and have yet to see it...
