The sound track is good but pretty much every pokemon game has a good sound track. The pokemon designs are a mixed bag, there's too many Kanto rehashes and some really awful designs. The story is fine but it's constantly shoved in your face and the game doesn't like letting you figure things out yourself and doesn't really open up until you're champion. Gen 5 isn't bad but it's definitely not the best generation

Gen 2 is easily the best gen overall and it still has some of thee worst designs game freak has ever allowed released.
