Right now nothing since I accomplished my last big goal for BDSP so far, breeding all 3 Sinnoh starters

I might return to breeding Larvesta or doing DA for Solgaleo or an Ultra Beast since right now I only have a Solgaleo and Fini slot.

So far some money, SMT, facial stuff (White elephant), a hoodie and a dresser. I treated myself to some socks and I may treat myself to some Pokemon Center stuff next week.

I have been working on Rayquaza in a level ball in Dynamax Adventure and a shiny Piplup encounter as my starter in Brilliant Diamond. I'll start an Eevee Masuda Method for a moon ball Umbreon soon.

I received Shining Pearl and some Zelda joy cons. I can now play through pearl and breed with out worrying the controller drift is going to deny me an egg at the day care because gen 8 day care lady affirmation is single click as opposed to two!

There is no "shiny gene"
It's tied to IVs because that is how shinies were done in gen 2. So if the Ekans has the correct IVs, in theory it should have the same chance as the Gyarados. Remember you ONLY have the really high chance of getting one if it's a FEMALE Ekans that's hatching.

cfw, luma lets you grab screenshots in its applet menu
it's kind of cringey since it saves .bmps and separates top and bottom screens but it beats the nothing nintendo's official firmware offers

all female ekans that come from the red gyarados will carry the genes, but they won't actually be shiny if their attack and speed DVs don't qualify. if you want a shiny male, breed a female ekans you get from the red gyarados with something else

Essentially the “Shiny Gene” is just a Pokémon with 10 Defence dvs and 2/10 Special dvs, it will always be the opposite gender of your shiny/shiny gene parent.
I recommend cloning a bunch of rare candies so you can check the DVs of a Pokémon using the calculator if you’re unsure.

Amazingly, I got it Christmas morning. From here I just blitzed through the rest of the game after finishing the rest of the contests with him. Probably going to go back to Pinsir once we're in January. Just a ludicrous amount of full odds shinies these past few months and I want a break.

Still soft-resetting for Type: Null to shine in UM, but I did manage to catch a Christmas Shiny while EV-training some of my past Shinies in Sun.
It has a perfectly useable Ability and Nature, but I won't keep it since I already own this particular Shiny.
I'm sure it'll make someone else happy on Wonder Trade, though.
