The English word can is written キャン in nip too, so where's the problem.

Either you suck at English pronunciation or Japanese pronunciation.

カ isn't pronounced like in "can", its pronounced like in "car". Moon runes aren't as flexible in their pronounciation as english letters. To get it like "can" you have to use キャ
