For real though, Megas were one of the only times Game Freak decided to through a bone to any shitmons. Most megas were wasted on legendaries and shillmons that were already good but the ones given to shitmons were something magical. Game Freak only really loves CHARIZARD and a handful of other mons while actively hating certain other POKEMONS. Megas were the one and only chance several Pokémon had at ever being a nothing more than a joke, and not only did Game Freak deny several Pokémon that change, they pulled the rug out from under the few they had previously saved with Megas while giving CHARIZARD a golden parachute Giga.
