Nah, that was Gen 4 until HGSS came out, then people just hated D/P/PT, forgot about it and BDSP once again made people remember why D/P/PT suck.

This is somewhat true, during gens 6 and 7 they were considered the best games by the majority of vp. the backlash against gen 5 also made people start to hate gen 1, or atleast I never heard the term genwunner before that point.
