Hop, on the other hand, is terrible. He’s arrogant beyond belief until he gets BTFO’d after the third gym. He clearly views the player as his inferior, but does nothing to back it up. Hop isn’t your friend. He is a snake in the grass that sees you as a tool to get the endorsement from his brother. He’s constantly shocked to learn that you have even the most basic competency with your team.
I despise hop because I don’t see his success as believable. He doesn’t become a threat until he acquires an item boosted legendary. Then, when you finally think you’re done with this guy, he shows up on the Isle. A place that, up until then, was a sanctuary, now defiled by his presence.
