I mean, I'd rather not buy a memebox (either flavour), get invested in it, buy games digital or shit, then get the opposite memebox the next gen as it was "better". At least backwards compatibility would allow me to play older games, but I got into Steam instead as PC's just do everything a memebox does better, even being a home entertainment hub, so there was no point going the memebox route since 2010. Nintendo still make games consoles and don't try to be anything but a games console, working in concert with a person's entertainment set-up and that's why people still buy them, more people I knew bought a PS3 for the comparatively cheap (compared to dedicated units) blu-ray player than for ever playing games with.
