Good. It's basically an updated Red, in as much as it's focusing on the goal of the very first game, offering an unknown (relatively) land to explore on top. Yep, there's call-forwards and references abound to DP and Sinnoh, but on the overall, it's an entirely new experience offered to us set directly in the universe, which I'm all for.

Honestly? I'm a little worried, but hopeful at the same time.

I'm kinda mixed on open-world games (I love Genshin but found BOTW kinda dull) but this looks pretty cool. Lots of new ideas are being shown and the graphics look alright (Pokemon now run up to hit each other, whaaaaa?)

At the same time tho, I'm worried that GF will find some way to mess it up, either by laziness or cutting corners. Here's hoping it's good tho.

The fact that it's actually trying something new is good, even if it's following the BOTW forum beat-to-beat. Although I am concerned about a few things:

Not sure, it seems interesting but theres a lot of stuff that points out it will be as ugly and rushed as swsh. I don't have much money so im hoping for another leak just as with bdsp so i can play it in my emulator. If not, eh either way i wont buy it. Its 60 bucks im not throwing to the trash and neither i want to support game freaks awful practices

It's kind of tragic. Gamefreak realised their formulaic games were getting worse and worse and they had to make a drastic break from the existing formula, but they didn't actually know what to do afterwards.

It not actually being open world is a bit disappointing, but hopefully its a bit more non linear to make up for that. The game is also kinda ugly if I'm being honest. I don't really think they achieved the water color/ink thing I think they're going for so everything sort of looks muddy.

This game will flop hard because it's made for the normie crowd that demands an impossible game. Making an immersive open world sandbox it’s already exhausting as it is. Even the most acclamaided games among normies like New Vegas or Witcher 3 compromise a lot to deliver an immersive experience. But on top of that people want the complete pokedex on that dream pipe of a game. Somehow the retards believe because the game would we cell shaded that means is half the work. Also the morons think Monolithsoft could do this game just because they mastered the art of making good looking landscapes.
Imagine pitching this game to Bethesda/Rockstar/CDPR at their peak.
>A monster catching game with the established depth of Pokemon
>Plus making a new pokedex
>It has to be open world
>Sand box
>Immersive worlds with NPCs and Pokemon walking around
>The usual bullshit like fishing, collecting items ect.
>Side quest
>Dungeons
>Multiplayer
>Naturally no bugs at least not to be found immediately.
>Finally the combat needs to be like a Tales of game.
These studios with decades of experience making open world games would decline or accept the project by asking the biggest budget they’ve ever had and making compromises to cut some stuff out of the wish list.
The best GF (a studio used to make mobile games) can deliver is this. I don’t know why they’re not ignoring this in the first place. They have plenty to do to fix the core series. Just remember normies are fucking entilted manchildren and they don’t know what they want.

I just wonder what the Pokemon selection will be like beyond the Platinum dex. More randos like Vulpix and Spheal should be added to pad out the roster, even if they don't get regional forms.

The story and characters so far seem to just be a cheap imitation of SM - Trial Captains and Totems, with two main factions.
Gameplay wise, the battle system seems to be extremely basic for a JRPG, and you are just completing requests to get rewards and money. The graphics are subpar but for a Pokémon game they are okay.
I like the new regional forms and Pokémon, but I wish we had more meat on this bone.
This game seems to be Game Freak copying the BOTW formula which they attempted st first to do with SWSH to great failure. It definitely feels like LA was meant to be the true third version of Gen 8 over the DLC.
I also don’t expect to get invested in the story or characters the same way Xenoblade caught me in.
