Well because these elemental personality things are always playing on the same tropes and logic. And they only have one personality type per element, and if you have to pick just ONE personality per element of course you are going to go with the most straightforward and logical interpretation. It just makes sense.

I once started making this same thing except the Types had 4 personality types each. That was last year and I just never finished it. As an example

Electric Type
>the Daredevil (electricity is bold and reckless)
>the Spazz (electricity is erratic and frenetic)
>the Luminary (electricity as it relates to high intelligence; think Tesla)
>the Zeus (someone commanding and loud, like thunder)

Psychic Type
>the Brainiac (psychics are smart and slightly crazy)
>the Empath (think gardevoir)
>the Master Magician (someone boastful who is adroit and likes to dazzle people)
>the Starry Child (someone highly curious who wonders about deeper mysteries of the universe and feels out of touch with ordinary people)

You need to seperate the Types like that or else they will always be the most cookie-cutter interpretations.

I get this for maybe all of them except ice. some of them are stupidly easy, like ground type are always grounded in reality, down to earth, ISTJ shit that uses ground metaphors. electric is energetic, poison is toxic. But why is ice so sensitive and mopey? I can think of ice metaphors like saying a person is cold as in heartless, but they dont match up with the ones used here.

By the way they are consistent about the personalities they associate with each type somehow. Someone made a similar thread for type by music, where your favorite music genres determine your type, and I had the same ice/ghost. Somehow ice is also associated with synthpop

ice. It's fragile, and it also melts very easily. This would tend to characterize a person who is a loner (because they have no social "warmth") or who has delicate sensibilities in some way. Snow is also famous for absorbing sound, so it would be a quiet person. Someone generally unemotive. And of course snowflakes are considered beautiful and associated with individuality. So altogether you're looking at an loner who doesn't get swayed by emotions easily and who has a sense of aesthetic beauty in some way. We use terms like chill or coolheaded for a reason

Yea another interpretation is being cold in the sense of being cruel, like how winter kills everything. Also most people don't LIKE the cold, so if someone is "icy" that is seen as someone antagonistic. It's just not THE most straightforward interpretation imo
