Still SANDshrew and SANDslash doesn't make sense for the Alola versions.
Raichu makes sense because its obvious people already knew Pikachu from Kanto and they slowly realized that it started to evolve differently only in Alola.
Also the legendary birds make sense sharing the same name, and Ponyta/Rapidash too.
